78 years ago war visited St Lucia

On this day, 78 years ago today, 10 March 1942, WWII visited St. Lucia in a most dramatic and violent way when the Lady Nelson, and another ship, the Umtata were torpedoed in Castries, St. Lucia by German sub 161 captained by Albrecht Achilles.

Catherine Martindale, who signed the Log Book in 2018, was aboard the Lady nelson with her family that night.
